Everything Water Australia were approached by IQS to provide a system to decontaminate a Containment Pond. The pond was so contaminated that much of the contaminants entering the pond were no longer being contained and consequently IQS’s client may have been in breach of their allowable trade waste discharge.

The containment pond is in use 24 hr/day and it had to remain in use. At the same time, the contaminants had to be removed and the treated water returned to the pond.

EWA in conjunction with Envirosmart Industries, provided a custom made containment boom to section the pond. The contaminated water was removed from the dirty water section by a customised floating skimmer and transferred to specialized geofabric geotubes, where all the contaminated solids were retained and the treated water returned to the clean water section of the pond.
